The best wedding dates for 2019

We love this time of year. Not only because of all the fabulous, festive events and celebrations, but also because it’s a popular season for proposals and therefore, wedding enquiries and people choosing wedding dates.

Before any couple starts looking for their dream venue, they need to have a handful of ideal dates in mind. But how do you decide when you should tie the knot? There are lots of things to consider, some of them personal to you, and some general to all nearly-weds. To help you navigate the first stage of wedding planning, we’ve put together some advice on how to choose the best wedding dates for you.

Spring weddings

Symbolically spring is a fabulous time of year to get married. Synonymous with new beginnings, the spring months inject a unique joy into wedding ceremonies and receptions. The onset of warmer weather gives couples the opportunity to hold some or all of their celebrations outside and the lighter evenings help keep the party going for longer into the night. The Terrace at No.4 Hamilton Place is the perfect outside wedding venue. It adjoins our beautiful Argyll Room and has fantastic views over Hyde Park. Spring is also the time when flowers have started to come into season. An abundance of bright yellows and purples fill gardens and bouquets alike offering brides a vibrant palette from which to choose their colour theme.

Summer weddings

Warm weather puts everyone in a good mood and the long summer evenings create a relaxed, holiday feel to a summer wedding reception. Alfresco dining is a real treat too, and the romance of the lighting as the sun goes down will give your wedding photographer a dream backdrop for your party pictures. The hottest months of the year will give your caterers scope to serve some of the UK’s tastiest food including fresh, locally grown salads and fruits. Our new, in-house caterers, Blue Strawberry believe in serving only the finest, seasonal ingredients and produce summer dishes that would impress the most discerning of wedding guests.

Autumn weddings

Nature creates a beautiful setting for autumn weddings with its red, brown, orange and yellow hues and you could also still be enjoying very warm temperatures up until the end of October. This time of year also sees some of the UK’s finest home-grown produce come into season including squashes and root veg.

Winter weddings

Ceremonies and receptions in the colder months of the year provide an opportunity to embrace all the joys of getting cosy and warm. Open fires, hot chocolate stations, warm spicy cider… the trimmings with winter weddings are some of the best and the deep reds and greens of the typical bridal blooms offer a unique and distinction style. Here at No.4 Hamilton Place, we cover the terrace with a heated marquee for the festive season so you and your guests can still make the most of this unique space.

Weekdays

We’re seeing a rise in couples opting for week day weddings at No.4 Hamilton Place, and this is a great option if you want to save money on venue hire and splash out on extras. Thursdays and Fridays are particular popular and venue hire starts at as little at £3,000 plus VAT.

Catering

Blue Strawberry will be taking over as our in-house caterers in 2019. They are London’s leading catering company, renowned for their innovative events with creative and delicious food. Their unparalleled menus are intelligently designed and expertly prepared by a highly skilled chef brigade. General points to consider

Watch out for popular holiday dates like the school breaks and bank holidays as people’s diaries fill up quickly for these and venues get booked in early. Check dates with any VIP guests first to avoid any disappointments. And once you have found the perfect day for your wedding, send out your save the date to all of your guests as soon as possible to make sure its on their calendar!
