For those of you who’ve not yet met Bharat, let us introduce you. To those of you who already know him, read on to find out more about what makes him tick and how he saved one lucky couple from a near disaster on their wedding day…

How long have you been at No.4 Hamilton Place?

I started as Event Manager back in September 2013. I’d previously worked for the Royal Aeronautical Society, (who own the building) so I knew No.4 Hamilton Place well before I joined the Venue Team.

What makes you good at your job?

I like to think I’ve got the energy and enthusiasm needed to keep up with the fast pace of the job. There are times when there’s so much to do it hardly seems possible, but I’ve not been beaten yet!

What do you love most about your job?

Every day is different. I get to meet loads of new people from clients and guests to suppliers and catering staff. I really thrive off that.

What’s the best event you’ve ever worked on?

We hosted an amazing event for around 200 Brazilians during the 2014 Football World Cup. We astro-turfed the Argyll Room and Terrace, had a console corner where guests could play FIFA, kitted the whole place out in yellow and green and served amazing Brazilian-themed barbecued food. It was a truly brilliant evening.

What’s the most challenging thing about your job?

Because we’re a high end venue, our clients have equally high expectations. Every one of us in the Venue Team strives to not just meet, but exceed these. Going the extra mile is part of the job and what keeps me on my toes, but it’s certainly what creates the biggest challenges.

Have you ever saved an event from near disaster?

Well, actually, yes! At the first ever wedding I organised at No.4 Hamilton Place, the bride was an hour and a half late. The registrar was threatening to leave and I managed to convince him to stay. I didn’t tell the couple what happened as I didn’t want to cause any upset, but I was pretty proud of myself to be honest!

What fantasy event would you organise?

Something to do with Buffalo chicken wings – I’m a big fan. Maybe Buffalo Chicken Wingfest 2016…

What’s your favourite space at 4HP and why?

It has to be the Argyll Room and Terrace. I love organising summer parties and I’ll never tire of showing new clients these adjoining spaces. People’s reactions when they see the views over Hyde Park are endlessly pleasing.
