Christmas Party Themes

Christmas is a magical time of year and in many offices, the Christmas party is the highlight of the social calendar. It’s all the little touches that make a party great; the music, games, entertainment… but before you can start having fun with the details, the first thing you need to do is decide on a theme. We’ve rounded up some of our favourites to help inspire you as the festive season approaches.

Winter Wonderland

This is a great idea for any organiser who has an eye for interiors, as a Winter Wonderland party is all about the decorations. Fake snow, fairy lights, ice sculptures, Santa’s sleigh photo booth, snowflake table decorations and lanterns… you can really let your imagination run wild with this one. Some extra touches you can add might include Slush Puppy cocktails, an open fire to toast marshmallows and a Dickensian troop of Christmas carollers.

Our Bill Boeing Room is the perfect space for any clients who wants to unleash their creativity. It’s a large, blank canvas, versatile room that lends itself perfectly to receptions and sit down dinners.

Around the World

Tapping into the traditions of other cultures is a brilliant way to bring people together and to inject something really special into your Christmas celebrations. Food and drink is a great way to explore how other countries enjoy the festive period. Perhaps you could welcome guests with a warming cup of Austrian Glühwein and pumpkin pie canapes, inspired by the American festive staple. You could also draw on the Italian tradition of serving fish on Christmas Eve and indulge guests in a seafood banquet followed by stollen-laced bread and butter pudding using the German’s favourite sweet bread.

Whatever cuisines you want to incorporate, our in-house Head Chef, Paulo Ferreira, is always happy to help create a bespoke menu for organisers who want to serve something unique, making sure you have as much input as you want.

Masquerade Ball

A fabulous way to host a truly elaborate Christmas party, a masquerade ball gives guests the chance to dress to impress and dance the night away. To add further to the decadence of your occasion, ensure your serving staff are also in costume, that you serve a three-course, candlelit, gala dinner and that your entertainment exudes class. For decorations think candelabra, feathers, rhinestones and mood lighting.

After dinner is cleared, the Argyll Room turns into the perfect party space, offering a dancefloor, choice of DJ or live band is up to you!

At a glance

Fancy dress is a hugely popular way to liven up a Christmas party and there will be a theme to suit every office.
