WILBUR & ORVILLE WRIGHT ANNUAL LECTURE AND BANQUET

Written by Emily Falconer on 28th November 2013

On Thursday 12 December No. 4 Hamilton Place will be hosting the annual Wilbur & Orville Wright lecture and banquet which will feature a presentation of the 2013 Royal Aeronautical Society Medals & Awards.

Wilbur and Orville Wright lecture and banquet

This Named Lecture was established by the Royal Aeronautical Society to honour the two pioneering brothers who completed the first successful controlled powered flight on 17 December 1903. It is the principal event in the Society’s year and Dr Thomas Enders FRAeS, Chief Executive Officer of EADS, will be speaking. Previous speakers have included Capt Suzanna Darcy-Henneman, Director of Training at Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Dr Piers Seller, NASA Astronaut. The event, which is over-subscribed every year with around 200 attending the lecture and 100 attending the banquet, is set to be another fantastic success. The banquet, held in the Argyll room, is a luxurious affair; the menu this year includes delicious lightly smoked loin of venison and is once again produced by No. 4 Hamilton Place’s award-winning caterer foodbydish.
