A MAYFAIR VENUE – OUT AND ABOUT IN THE LOCAL AREA

Written by Emily Falconer on 28th January 2016

A Mayfair Venue

What to do in Mayfair before or after your event?

Location is of paramount importance when choosing a venue. Your event will be infinitely more appealing to invitees if they know it’s in an area that is easy to get to and from. Luckily, No.4 Hamilton Place is nestled right in the heart of Mayfair with a plethora of pre or post-event entertainment opportunities for your guests, as well as fantastic transport links. We’ve rounded up a few of our favourites in case you don’t know the area very well.

Bars

The American Bar at The Beaumont is a great choice for entertaining. It’s part of the new Beaumont Hotel and serves unapologetically strong cocktails. The waiting staff and service hark back to the prohibition era and their timeless charms make a visit to this establishment a real experience.

Another hotel bar, the Coburg at the Connaught, makes its guests feel as though they have been transported to a country house. Cocktails are classic and Champagnes and Cognacs are the stars of the drinks menu.

Shopping

Hamleys toy store, Liberty London, Burlington Arcade… the list of brilliant shops in and around Mayfair has a fair few world-famous brands amongst it, which makes it a Mecca for the well–heeled and deep of purse. Visitors to the area with slightly less disposable income needn’t feel completely left out though, as window shopping in New Bond Street, Bruton Street, South Molton Street and the surrounding roads is a sport of its own and there are loads of high street shops where bargains can be found.

The Arts

Run as a private institution by artists and architects, the Royal Academy of Arts was founded back in 1768. Its aim was, in part, to showcase British contemporary art and continues this day to host some of the country’s best touring exhibitions. Make sure any art lovers amongst your guest list find out if there’s anything on they’d like to see. (Image © Fraser Marr)

Hotels

As you would expect from one of the capital’s most exclusive areas, Mayfair isn’t left wanting in the high-end hotel department. A few of the five star classics includes Claridges, The Four Seasons, Intercontinental Park Lane. For a more boutique hotel feel, we can highly recommend The Chesterfield Mayfair. We work closely with them to ensure you enjoy not one by two great Mayfair Venues.
